JAVIER CAMPS

Javier Camps (Valencia, 1999) studied Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València and later completed a Master's degree in Production and Art Direction at the Centro de Estudios de Innovación (CEI). His practice operates at the intersection of sculpture, installation, and contemporary visual culture, with a strong focus on technical processes, industrial production, and materiality as modes of thinking.
His work investigates the mechanisms through which matter fixes, contains, and organizes that which is inherently unstable. Through sculpture and installation, he develops a formal vocabulary drawn from engineering, architecture, and industrial manufacturing (screws, hinges, tension systems, anchors, fastening devices, and structural joints) to explore fixation as both a technical and symbolic gesture. Rather than fulfilling a functional purpose, these objects make visible the human impulse to stabilize the intangible: information, memory, light, sound, or belief. Characterized by a white, precise, and aseptic aesthetic, his works inhabit an ambiguous territory between infrastructure and ritual object, where technology ceases to be merely instrumental and becomes a means of producing meaning.
He has participated in the Beca Espacial program, the group exhibition Miss Espacial (Pluto, La Font, 2024), and publications such as Ichigo Series, produced by Bandiz Studio for Madrid's Libros Mutantes art book fair. His most recent solo exhibition is Apple Music Office at GE53 Gallery, Valencia.
